The Columns
of Tunica

Charles and Gloria Hailey are native Tennesseeans and have been married for over 30 years. They have two children, Heather who is married to Scott Goff, a life-long Tunican (they lives about a half mile from here), and Jonathan who lives on the third floor here with us. Charles works for FedEx and hopes to retire in a few years to work full time here at The Columns. Gloria has been a stay-at-home mom who homeschooled Heather and Jonathan for 12 years. She has taught private piano lessons for several years (if you hear the sounds of students on Monday afternoons in the parlor, you will know she is teaching—please don't mind interrupting if you need something.) They stayed in their first bed and breakfast in Vermont while traveling on their 25 th anniversary and have stayed in many more since then. They have talked for many years about restoring an old home and making it in to a bed and breakfast. Heather found this house right after she married Scott. About a year was spent in renovation and restoration. Their living quarters are on the first floor—feel free to knock any time you have a need. They hope to make your visit to The Columns a lasting memory for you as well and that you will come back to visit many more times in the future.

We often hear “I've always wanted to have a bed and breakfast”. If you are interested in what it takes to be an innkeeper, our suggestion is this: take a few days off work and offer to assist an innkeeper at no charge. You will learn the ins and outs for free; the innkeeper gets a free set of additional hands! Win, win!
